A full Spain redux is long overdue. Mostly because it involves transfering photos from one computer to another and I have far too many blogs to read and tweets to tweet for my own good. Until then, this is us loving Spain.
My best friend is getting married. She’s the closest person I have to a sister and I’m beyond excited. The fian-fian’s pretty great, too.

Anyone else hear Dionne Warwick on repeat?
Maybe not according to some, but I was struck by this sign outside a building near our hotel. They all look like this, by the way. Have yet to see a building that wasn’t provincial with eaves and peaks, and wrought iron details or shutters around the windows. I live for cool architecture — and passive aggressive notes — so thinking of giving this the black and white treatment and throwing into a frame when I get home.

*Plaza de Santa Ana, Madrid, Spain
Besides bits and pieces of the language (lo siento, Sra. Alessio) and the memory of my friend Jon doing a tripod in the middle of class, one of the few things I remember about my Spanish classes in high school was the story of Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes. It has something to do with an anciet gentleman who fought windmills. Yes, windmills, because he thought they were enemy soldiers. Dude was cray.
In the streets around our hotel, there are phrases, proverbs and quotes written in the pavement. After lunch yesterday, we stumbled upon this one:

Where’s Santo Pancho and his donkey?
*Calle Prado, Madrid. Translates to: “In a village of la Mancha, the name of which I don’t wish to recall, there lived not long ago a gentleman of those who always have a lance in the rack, an aged shield, a worn-out horse, and a greyhound for running.”
Nothing sweeter than napping four stories above la Plaza de Santa Ana, windows open and the sound of chatter wafting through.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock (hopefully a very stylish one), you’ve probably heard that tonight is Fashion’s Night Out. I’ve heard dissenting opinions — some people feel like they don’t need a designated night to go shopping (divas) — but some of us are kind of excited. Unfortunately, I will not be partaking in tonight’s festivities. But if you’re interested, plan your night by clicking here.

Bonus: Gawker put together a scavenger hunt for Fashion’s Night Out. To the victor, goes $250. Game on.
Full disclosure: I’m a sucker for pretty packaging. And anything Benefit. So, I was dead in the water as soon as I laid eyes on the garden of good and Eva eau de toilette. And now I smell pretty, too.
Q: True or False: The world needs another blog.
A: True. Or False. Either way, let out a big sigh - my home, style and homestyle (as in hashbrowns, obviously) blog is born. Don’t we feel better now?
